TRAVEL:
Traveled extensively in Europe for travel, ski and automotive articles; lived there for a year traveling 20,000 miles through 12 countries from the Netherlands to Morocco. Traveled Baja California and the West Coast of Mexico extensively. Lived in New Orleans for a year. This extensive background has supplied me with much copy for newspapers, magazines and a large supply of stock photos. I write a regular travel article in Siliconeer Magazine based in Silicon and San Francisco, Sacramento and New York. I also wrote a weekly automotive feature article in The Reporter in Vacaville, CA for 38-years.

AUTOMOTIVE:
Wrote road test, auto industry and motorsports articles for 38 years for the Richmond Independent; Berkeley Gazette; The Reporter; Hayward Daily Review; Siliconeer magazine; Pacifica Tribune; Amador Ledger-Dispatch (a McClatchy publication) and Pacific Sun. Drove and tested upwards of 100 new autos a year.

MOTORSPORTS:
Raced sports cars, including MG-A 1500, MG-A Mark II, Austin-Healey, Mini-Cooper, Sunbeam Imp, factory-race Volvo sedan, Triumph Spitfire in SCCA events; drove the first production Wankel-powered sports car in an officially sanctioned competition. Racing Drivers Club Sports Car Club of America Class H-Modified and Sedan Class D second overall season champion 1965-1966. Trophied every hill climb entered over 17 years. Drove two years in figure-eight dirt-track racing. Sports Car Club of America race announcer. Wrote freelance motorsports articles for many Bay Area publications and magazines and as a staffer on the Richmond Independent; Berkeley Gazette; The Reporter; Siliconeer magazine; Pacifica Tribune: Hayward Daily Review and Marin Pacific Sun.

SKIING:
Have skied over 80 ski areas in North America and Europe and wrote about skiing since 1965 as a weekly columnists and feature/travel writer for major Bay Area newspapers plus ski-based travel articles as a freelancer and regularly for Siliconeer. Weekly ski report from the “High Atop the Truckee Hilton” on the Al “Jazzbo” Collins show on station KSFO. Bill Berry Far West Association Award for Best Ski Columns 1996-1997.

BACKSTAGE:
Six years Security Supervisor fo Bill Graham Presents. Supervised crews at many venues featuring major rock concert, ballets, jazz, blues, etc.

AWARDS: The Vacaville Reporter automotive section has won many state a nd national awards. Stockton, Record ski articles were awarded the 1996/97 Bill Berry Writers Award from the Far West Ski Association. In 1966 and 1967 Second Overall Racing Drivers Club Championship in H-Modified and D-Sedan. A photo of interview at Whistler is displayed at the Whistler Ski Museum. Created annual Temby Memorial Good Guy Award for SCCA workers.

ENTERTAINMENT/MUSIC REVUES: Monterey Jazz Festival, Mt. Tam Jazz Festival, Russian River Jazz Festival, KCSM Jazz Festival, Brian Auger (no relation), Ringling Bros. Barnum & Bailey Circus, Woody Herman, B.B. King, Jimmy Witherspoon, Miles davis, Airto, Duck's Breath; show reviews at major Northern California venues; jazz cruises.
